We should all know by now that Cantu always strives to ensure they’re producing nourishing beauty products at an affordable price. I’ve found that over the past 3 out of the 5 years that I’ve been natural, I’ve always had at least 2 of their products incorporated in my natural hair regimen.
More recently I’ve added 2 products from their “Refresh” Collection:
- Cantu Refresh- Apple Cider Vinegar – Dry Co-Wash
- Cantu Refresh- Apple Cider Vinegar – Root Rinse
Initially I wanted to try the Cantu “Refresh” line due to the main ingredients: ACV, Tea Tree Oil, and Peppermint Oil. I suffer from dandruff and those key ingredients are known to relive the symptoms of dry scalp/dandruff. Coincidentally I (re)started my weight loss journey and found myself in the gym 4-6 times a week. My scalp and hair were DRENCHED in sweat and built up oil and dirt form my workouts, so I really couldn’t have tried these at a better time.
The Review
Cantu Refresh- Apple Cider Vinegar – Root Rinse: First and foremost, there’s a tingling sensation…but nothing painful. If you are anything like me, the tingle won’t bother you at all… it makes me feel like the product is working. The smell isn’t a bunch of roses, but with that being said, it doesn’t smell bad at all. Now keep in mind this line of products was created for those of us who wear protective styles and get that random urge and want to use our fingertips and scratch …. but of course we’re only left with the options of patting our hair, or grabbing the nearest rat tail comb! The Root Rinse definitely offers relief and the beauty of it all is that with the Cantu Refresh line, there is no washing or rinsing necessary!!! I love it!!! Even though I’m not currently rocking any protective styles I can honestly say I felt instant relief. This will now be apart of my (CO)Wash Day routine. As much as I try to avoid shampooing, at some point in the month I reach for it to give my scalp that extra clean feel and this is a great substitute for the days I co-wash.
Cantu Refresh- Apple Cider Vinegar – Dry Co-Wash: This smells like the salon!!!! It has the typical hair spray smell, which I don’t mind, but that was just the first thing that came to mind when I smelt it. This will be my GO-TO when trying to stretch my straight styles!!! I absolutely loved how it left my scalp feeling! I did do an initial reaction video when I was trying to stretch my straightened hair… so hit play to see more!
